Valmyr "Val" Duane Robbins (1925–2009)

was an American mid-century modern artist

and craftsman primarily known for his

abstract wood sculptures and fine

woodwork. He often signed his work as

"Val Robbins" or "RimRock", the name of

his studio.

 Val attended the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn,

New York, where he studied alongside

his wife, Mae.

 In 1950, Val and Mae established RimRock

Studios in Pennsylvania. Val passed away in

2009, in Tucson, Arizona.
